All of this, and still not have to exercise? This is all possible. If you don't believe this, than let me introduce you to the Atkin's diet program. The Atkin's diet is known as the "Ketogenic Diet". Meaning, your body enters "ketosis" in order for this to work. Ketosis is when the body or more so your brain cuts off the use of glucose (sugar) to function and now conforms to using ketones. Does it work? It is a diet that reaches as far back as the 60s and has been used my bodybuilders to lose unwanted fat. People thought this to be a new diet. But, over the last decade it has become main stream. With research and studies, it has been concluded that the diet does work and has no negative long term or short term health risks.

It is advisable to consult your physician before starting the Atkin's diet as well as any other diet program. The stages of the Atkin's diet differ. You should not take any non approved weight loss pills while you are on the Atkin's diet. The first stage of the Atkin's diet appears to be the most strenuous because your brain has to adjust to using ketone's. Some people complain of feeling light headed and have headaches. This period only lasts for about 2 weeks and will leave you feeling better than before you started the program. At this stage is were you will notice a significant change in your body weight. You will also decide at this phase if you would like to stay at this stage or begin to add more carbohydrates back into your diet. Doing this, your body will begin to decrease the weight. Getting into ketosis is the only way this will work, though.

It is important to know how to enter and maintain an existance in ketosis. People struggle with getting into ketosis and don't know what to do to stay there. People are not receiving explanation of vital infomation and therefore are not succeeding on this diet. When entering ketosis you must maintain a daily protien intake at no more than 20%. Your fat intake cannot be less than 80%, and your carbohydrate intake must be 0! If you take in any amount of carbohydrates, your body WILL NOT go into ketosis. It usually only takes 2-3 days for this stage to occur. Once your body has entered the ketosis stage, it is important to begin changing your ratios to approximately 5% from carbs, 30% from protien, and 65% from your fat intake in order to stay in ketosis. It is at this point that you may begin taking the approved Atkin's weight loss pills to maintain your weight.

In this "Introduction" stage you will have to adjust your body to eating mostly cheese, eggs, and meats. Once you progress to the next stages you will be allowed to add vegetables and fruit (once in a while) back into your diet. Once you have conquered the initial first 2 weeks and have decided if you are going to stay at this stage or move on, you will gradually begin to add more carbs to your diet until you notice you are coming out of ketosis. At this phase you will determine how many carbs your body can handle while being in ketosis. The Atkin's diet is not for everyone. If you feel that your body can deal with this type of diet and you can stick with the regimen, then you will notice large amounts of weight being lost effortlessly. Your energy levels will sky rocket and you'll find that you are hungry less frequently. By combining the Atkin's diet with the approved weight loss pills, you will be able to achieve results quickly and safely.
